Health is a Journey...

Your Healthy Body

  • What is Health?

  • What controls your health?

  • Why is health important?

  • What disturbs your health?

  • When does stress affect it?

  • How can I become healthy?

It's Time For You To:

Think: How your past decisions have affected your health.
Evaluate: The quality of your present health.
Choose: To control the quality of your future health.
Change: Your thoughts, actions and decisions today which will determine your quality of life tomorrow.

Definition of Health:

According to the World Health Organization, "Health is the state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity."

Normal Function = Healthy Life

The Key to Health IS Function.

Feeling vs. Function:

There are three parts of the nervous system.

1) Motor Nerves (control muscles)
2) Autonomic Nerves (blood vessels, organs and glands)
3) Sensory Nerves (transmit pain)

The main responsibility of the nervous system is to control and coordinate the function of your entire body.

The Life Center

1) The body's intelligence develops the brain and spinal cord first.  This occurs within 18 days of conception.
2) The intelligence is expressed through the brain and spinal cord which are so valuable and delicate they are the only organs encased in bone.  The brain weighs approximately three pounds and is covered by the skull.  Twenty-four moveable vertebrae protect the small, slender spinal cord which is about the thickness of a pencil.

The Communication Center:

Gray's Anatomy tells us the central nervous system controls and coordinates ever cell, tissue, muscle, and organ.  How does is do this?

The intelligence expressed through the central nervous system continually sends vitally important messages between your brain and body which travels through the central nervous system at a rate of 325mph through 45 miles of your nerves!

The Master Control Center

Self Healing: When you cut your hand, your master control system  heals the wound without any external input.
Self Regulating: Your body has an innate ability to regulate itself in order to adapt to ever changing internal and external conditions.

When your central nervous system is functioning properly your body knows how to heal, regulate and adapt itself.

The Nervous System's Enemy

Subluxation: Misalignment of a vertebrae which disturbs communication within the central nervous system.

A Subluxation can disturb the function of:
1) The Life Force
2) The Communication Center
3) The Master Control System, causing your quality of health to decline, even if there are no symptoms present.

Chiropractic vs. Subluxation:

The chiropractor's main purpose is to detect and correct those subluxations by improving normal positioning, movement and function of the vertebrae.  This increases the positive communication between the brain and body which allows for a healthier central nervous system.

2) Do you recognize the effects of stress started during your childhood?

3) Did you realize that stress will be present in certain areas of your life for years to come?

4) Since these three major causes of stress exist in your life do you feel it is important to have your central nervous system checked?

5) Do you think early detection will give you a better chance preventing future health issues?

6) Since some of these stresses started in early childhood should parent have their children checked for subluxation?

Dangerous Health Thoughts:

Maybe it will go away.

It comes and goes.

It's not that bad!

It only hurts when...

I know what my problem is.

My Doctor couldn't find anything wrong.

I've been this way for years.

I don't want to know what's wrong.

It's because of my age, that's all.

I don't have any symptoms.

I can't afford it.
